His performance in the series, particularly his clutch three-pointer in Game 7, cemented his legacy as one of the greatest players of all time.

After retiring as a player in 1974, West remained involved in the NBA as a coach, general manager, and team executive. He led the Lakers to multiple championships as general manager and has been credited with building one of the most successful franchises in NBA history.
