Porsha Williams, who is most known for her appearance on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” has begun filing for divorce from her husband, Simon Guobadia, after the couple married for fifteen months. Today, February 23, 2024, the news was officially verified.
Williams and Guobadia, a businesswoman born in Nigeria, married in November of 2022. It had only been a few months since the couple had celebrated their first wedding anniversary, which had taken place in November of 2023. Williams has now filed for divorce, citing the fact that the marriage is irretrievably damaged and there are no chances for reconciliation. This is even though the celebration took place not too long ago.
In Georgia, the paperwork about the divorce was submitted to the Fulton County Superior Court. The pair entered into a prenuptial agreement only a few days before they were married, and Williams has asked the court to make the arrangement legally binding that they signed. Additionally, she has requested that Guobadia be compelled to pay her reasonable attorney’s fees and the litigation expenses incurred due to this divorce.
Williams continues to use the name “Porsha Guobadia” on her Instagram account despite having filed for divorce. Williams and Guobadia continue to follow one another on Instagram during this time. A picture of Williams was released by Guobadia only a week ago, and it was interesting to note that a large arrangement of red flowers, red balloons, and a red teddy bear accompanied the shot. Recent Valentine’s Day celebrations in Dubai were shared by the exes who had previously been together.
Due to Williams’s wish that the documents be kept confidential, the cause of the divorce is now unclear. On the other hand, a source said that the reason for their split is an “ongoing matter.”
Bravo announced that Williams will return to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” after a two-year absence, and this revelation came soon after that announcement. Previous to that, in 2013, Williams had divorced former National Football League player Kordell Stewart. She and her ex-husband, Dennis McKinley, are parents to a daughter named Pilar McKinley.
