The well-known professional golfer Tiger Woods has abruptly left the Genesis Invitational golf event. This decision came as a complete surprise to everyone. As a result of the symptoms of influenza, the 48-year-old golfer was pulled off the course by a cart, which ended his return to the PGA in 2024.

During his return to competitive golf, Woods only played for 24 holes at the Genesis Invitational. His return was short-lived. The flu-like symptoms he was experiencing caused him to withdraw from the competition on Friday after he had just completed six holes. With the use of an intravenous bag, he was treated for the possible dehydration and dizziness that were associated with his sickness.

Since Woods withdrew from the 2023 Masters in April of last year due to foot pain, he made his first official appearance on the PGA tour at the Genesis Invitational, held at the Riviera Country Club. Following a diagnosis of influenza, he decided to withdraw from the competition, which has left both him and his supporters feeling dissatisfied.

Woods is now recuperating and feeling better despite the setback that occurred. He showed his dissatisfaction on social media by saying, “I’m disappointed not to be there and want to thank @GenesisUSA and all the fans for the support.” He also thanked both groups for their support. The fact that Woods endured “flu-like symptoms” during the second round of the competition was verified by his manager, Rob McNamara.

Since the 2022 Masters, this is the third time that Woods has withdrawn from competitions before this occurrence. Despite the difficulties, Woods’ spirit has not been crushed, and his supporters anticipate that he will return to the course.
